Limits and pricing

Quavsit is metered in units. Plans differ in the units included each month, the number of requests allowed per minute, the number of keys, access to streams and the price of extra units.

Plans#

Prices are in euros, VAT included where applicable. Starter and Pro offer a 14-day trial. Plans are personal (one account, one billing customer); Enterprise is set up by hand after contact. Subscribe, change or cancel at my.quavern.com/account/quavsit.

Unit weights#

Units are charged only after a successful response. X-Quavsit-Units on each response is the exact figure.

Burst limit#

Requests are counted per minute per account (per client IP for internal callers). Exceeding the plan's figure answers 429 rate_limited with a Retry-After header; nothing is charged. The limit is a rolling window, so spread traffic rather than batching at the top of the minute.

Monthly budget#

The month is the calendar month in UTC (period is YYYY-MM). When included units are spent, the API answers 429 quota_exhausted with the plan, the period, the reset instant and whether overage is available. X-Quavsit-Units-Remaining and X-Quavsit-Period-End let you see this coming; GET /usage gives the full picture.

Overage and spend cap#

Paid plans can keep going beyond their included units at the overage rate above; Pay as you go bills every unit at €0.30 per 1 000. Overage is off by default: enable it on the account page, where you also set a monthly spend cap (€20 by default, up to €1 000). When the cap is reached the API answers 429 spend_cap_reached until the next period or until you raise the cap. Overage and Pay as you go usage are billed monthly through Stripe on the same invoice as the subscription, computed from the metered units.

Free plan#

Free is meant for evaluation and small personal tools: 5 000 units per month, 30 requests per minute, 2 keys, no streams, no overage. When the budget is spent, calls resume at the start of the next UTC month.
